Sean grew up in Genoa, Ohio, and graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. He spent a couple of years living in New Albany, Indiana but now resides in Delaware, Ohio. He is married to Stephanie Forney, an artist and art teacher. Together, they have two pups named Indy and Mikey, and they co-created and self-publish the Scarlet Huntress comic book series.

Sean Forney is a twenty-three-year professional illustrator currently working on covers and art for Dynamite, Counterpoint Comics, Image Comics, Coffin Comics, Silent Mayhem, Aspen, Ethereal, Absolute, and Totally Rad, along with his creator-owned comic series Scarlet Huntress. Published cover titles include Lady Death (Coffin), Vampirella/Red Sonja (Dynamite), Spicy Pulp Comics (Virus/Heavy Metal), Pestilence (Aftershock), Nyobi Outbreak (Nyobi), Franklin & Ghost (SourcePoint Press), Bloodstrike (Image), and TMNT (IDW). Cover and interior work can be seen in Death Notice and Batbear (Bear Claw Studios), All Out Pooh (Counterpoint), Lyaxia (Alcyone Studios), and multiple titles for Devil’s Due/1First and Zenescope. Sean works as a colorist for many companies including Counterpoint Comics for multiple titles including Tiggomverse, Hardlee Thinn, Notti & Nyce, Savage Eve, and Do You Pooh? Commercial artwork includes Upper Deck, Tire Discounters, Red Roof Inn, Cut the Rope (Titan Publishing), Lego, Inc., My Adventures with Spider-Man (Marvel/Identity Direct), and the Spin Master’s Bakugan toy line. Sean also hosts weekly live-drawing sessions through his YouTube channel and appears on podcasts and other live streams. Sean co-created and self-publishes the Scarlet Huntress series with Stephanie Forney. His work is also on display as part of the FCCFA’s Convention Center permanent collection and has been made into two murals in Columbus, Ohio as well. Stephanie Forney – Stephanie is in her 21st year teaching visual arts. She teaches at the high school level, mainly in the areas of graphic design, 3D modeling, and animation. She has a Master’s degree in Educational Technology Management and is currently a department chair for her building leadership team. Outside of school she works on commissions and children’s books in pastel, charcoal, and graphite. In the comics world she is editor-in-chief for Sean Forney Illustration where she maintains the books/accounting, website, flats artwork, writes, edits and formats all the art and books, and keeps the family dog occupied. She co-created Scarlet Huntress with Sean, which led to a spin-off children’s book Little Red Riding Hood: Origins of a Huntress which Steph wrote and illustrated. She writes all of the Scarlet Huntress stories and is currently working on the next story arc.
